Ben Thatcher is a UK-based media and film composer specialising in original score and audio post-production. His work spans independent productions across the UK, USA, and Australia, where he contributes not only immersive, emotionally driven music but also a complete suite of post-production sound services.

Alongside composition, Ben delivers end-to-end audio post-production services, including sound design, dialogue editing, re-recording mixing, and full ADR supervision (recording and mixing). He works to recognised industry specifications such as EBU R128, ATSC A/85, and theatrical loudness and dynamic range standards, ensuring all deliverables meet the technical requirements for cinema, broadcast, and streaming platforms. His mixes are engineered for translation across calibrated theatrical stages and home listening environments, guaranteeing a consistent, professional final master.

Ben is best known for his work on Tinhat Productions’ 2024 WW2 feature film Battle Over Britain, directed by Callum Burn and distributed by Kaleidoscope Film Distribution (KFD). He is currently continuing this collaboration on their next feature, Landship.

His recent credits also include assisting acclaimed composer Sarah Warne on the 2×60 Sky History documentary KURSK: 10 Days That Shaped Putin, directed by Becky Reed and produced by Hidden Light Productions. This role involved creative and technical support throughout the scoring process, as well as contributing original music written directly to picture.

Ben’s portfolio extends across drama, documentary, and horror, including the Australian feature REMNANT (2024) and The Biggest Dream (2022). His musical voice is broad yet distinctive, defined by textural depth and emotional weight—paired with precise, industry-standard sound delivery to enhance storytelling on both creative and technical levels.
